West Indies VS South Africa t20Is 2024: The West Indies Cricket Team will host South Africa for a three-match T20I series starting on May 23rd in Jamaica.
This three-match T20 series serves as a final send-off for both West Indies and South Africa before they dive into the T20 World Cup, starting June 1st in the US and West Indies.
The African team has decided to rest key players such as Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Heinrich Klaasen, to give them rest before the T20 World Cup.
As Markram rests, Rassie van der Dussen will act as captain for the Caribbean tour.

Brandon King will captain the West Indies for the series. Alzarri Joseph and Sherfane Rutherford could be added later depending on their IPL teams’ performance.
They’ll join the squad only if their franchises don’t make it to the IPL finals
Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran will skip the series to be fresh for the World Cup, rejoining the team in Trinidad on May 27th.
Chief Selector of the West Indian cricket team believes the series will provide the West Indian players with opportunities to get a place in the team for West Indies’ first match in the T20 World Cup against Papua New Guinea on June 2.
He added that the players will have the opportunity to master their skills and ensure maximum preparedness for the World Cup.
West Indies coach Daren Sammy said the games will provide his team an opportunity to play together since the Australia series and now they have a chance to integrate some of the players returning from the IPL and build some momentum going into the World Cup.
