NASEEM SHAH

In an interview on February 10, 2024, Sarfaraz Ahmad was asked about Naseem Shah’s transfer. He said that he is a fabulous bowler, and Quetta Gladiators saw his talent back in 2019 when he first appeared as a rising talent. We have put a lot of effort into him, and we are a bit sad after he was traded to Islamabad United for this season. But for him, it’s a big chance to play for another team. As a result, it will clear his future goals, but I wish and hope for them for Naseem Shah.

“Obviously, Naseem Shah was one of the best-emerging players; his journey with us was amazing, and he influenced the audience instantly. We are a little sad, but I wish for the best.” He said.

He has taken 32 wickets in his ODI matches, and in 19 international T20 matches, he has taken 15 wickets till now. He has not been playing for Pakistan after a shoulder injury. He was also ruled out of the 2023 World Cup due to his injury.

Further in the interview, Sarfaraz Ahmad said we are happy to have a bowler like Muhammad Amir on our team. We all know he has been playing in leagues, and in those leagues, his stats and average are attractive and consistent. He said Muhammad Amir can bowl opening overs as well as middle overs, and his line and length remain unchanged. He also said it’s a very big plus to have such experienced bowlers as Muhammad Amir and Sohail Khan in our team.

“Muhammad Amir is a brilliant bowler; you can see he has been playing leagues, and the team he is playing for is mostly at the top of the list. Muhammad Amir is a player who can ball in any over in any condition.”

Sarfaraz Ahmad also appreciated the performances of Sohail Khan and said he is an amazing bowler with great experience. We have been playing together since 2006. We played first-class and domestic together.

“Sohail has been selected for the Quetta Gladiators based on his exceptional performance; last time when Sindh won the final, he was the man of that match.”

Quetta Gladiators will play their first match of PSL season 9 on February 18 against Peshawar Zalmi at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The expected Quetta Gladiators squad will consist of Rilee Rossouw (Platinum), Mohammad Wasim, Jason Roy, Wanindu Hasaranga (all Diamond), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Brand Ambassador), Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Hasnain (all Gold), Mohammad Amir, Will Smeed (Silver), Saud Shakeel, Sajjad Ali, Usman Qadir, Adil Naz, Khawaja Nafay, Akeal Hosein, Sohail Khan, Omair Yousuf, Sherfane Rutherford, Bismillah Khan (partial replacement for Wanindu Hasaranga), and Sufiyan Muqeem.
