Pakistan Women face a whitewash by the England Women in the T20I series
Pakistan’s women’s cricket team fell short in the final T20I against England Women on Sunday, May 19th, losing by 34 runs at Leeds. This defeat sealed a clean sweep for England in the three-match series.
Pakistan’s chase of 177 began promisingly with both Gul Feroza and Sidra Amin contributing valuable runs. Feroza scored 30 runs off 29 balls, while Amin added 26 runs from 29 deliveries.
Despite a cautious start, Pakistan seemed in a good position with both Amin and Feroza contributing runs. However, the tide turned when Amin was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone, followed quickly by Feroza falling to Charlie Dean in the next over.
This triggered a batting collapse, leaving it to Dar and Aliya Riaz to salvage some pride. Both batters scored well, with Dar hitting 29 runs off 24 balls (including 3 fours and a six) and Riaz scoring 35 runs off 27 balls (including 4 fours).

England’s bowling attack shared the spoils, with Dean, Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, and Danielle Gibson each taking one wicket.
Earlier, England batted first and set a total of 176 runs. Their innings were powered by a brilliant knock from Danni Wyatt, who smashed 87 runs off just 48 balls. Her aggressive knock included 14 boundaries (fours) and a single six.
Pakistan’s bowling attack fought back admirably, with captain Nida Dar and pacer Diana Baig claiming three wickets each. The exciting young fast bowler Fatima Sana also chipped in with a wicket.
This loss completes a 3-0 series defeat for Pakistan. It’s worth noting that their struggles began earlier in the tour, falling short by 53 runs in the first match on May 11th. The second T20I also went England’s way, with a convincing 65-run victory on May 17th.
The two teams will now face each other in an ODI series starting from May 23rd.
