1. Shakib-al-Hasan
One of the best Bangladesh all-rounders Shakib-al-Hasan is on the top in this record list. Shakib appeared in 36 matches and held 47 wickets with an economy of 6.78. In 2021, He achieved the honor of highest wicket-taker in World Cup T20. His best performance was 4/9 in the World Cups.
2. Shahid Afridi
“Boom Boom” the player of big games Shahid Khan Afridi is just beyond Shakib in taking the most wickets in the World Cup T20. Afridi’s wicket-taking capability during the middle portion of the innings has given 39 wickets to his name. In 34 matches, he conceded runs with an economy of 6.71. Afridi was honored as player of the tournament in the 2007 World Cup & player of the match in the 2009 final.
3. Lasith Malinga
The “Yorker King” Malinga with his unique bowling style picked 38 wickets in 31 matches. He is one the greatest death-over specialists of all time. He gives scores with an average of 20.07. Malinga turned over the games and defended the low scores for his team many times.
4. Saeed Ajmal
Saeed Ajmal took 36 wickets in 23 matches of World T20. His mysterious turn of the ball makes world-class batsmen unanswerable. Ajmal played his best role in the 2009 T20 World Cup for Pakistan. His average was around 16.86 and his best performance was 4/19.
5. Ajantha Mendis
If we look at the best performance in the history of the T20 World Cup then the “Ajantha Mendis” name is on the top. His 6/8 in 2012 in opposition to Zimbabwe always remains memorable to watch. He represented Lanka in 21 games and picked 35 wickets with an average of 15.02.
