Major League Cricket 2024 scheduled Announced
The second edition of Major League Cricket 2024 has been scheduled to be held in the USA’s Texas and North Carolina from July 5th to July 28th.
The MI New York are defending champions of the inaugural title. They defeated Seattle Orcas in the 2023 edition of the league in the final match and took the title home.
The second edition of the MLC will start from where it was left off – with an opening match between MI New York and Seattle Orcas at Church Street Park in North Carolina.
The MLC2024 will see six teams competing for the title. The teams will compete in 21 matches with the Church Street Park and Grand Prairie Stadium hosting the first fifteen matches and the final six group matches and the final fixtures of the knockout stage will be held at the Grand Prairie Stadium.
Of the six teams in the league, four are owned by franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Texas Super Kings (owned by Chennai Super Kings), LA Knight Riders (owned by Kolkata Knight Riders), MI New York (owned by Mumbai Indians), and the runner-up of the last season Seattle Orcas (owner by Delhi Capitals).
The other teams that are not owned by IPL’s franchises are San Francisco United and Washington Freedom.
