On May 2nd, Cricket Canada Announces T20 World Cup 2024 Squad with all-rounder Saad Bin Zafar appointed as captain.
Canada’s squad for the T20 World Cup in June has been announced with Saad Bin Zafar leading the side.
Saad Bin Zafar, known for his left-arm orthodox spin brings a lot of experience to the side and is of Pakistani descent
Saad is ready to lead the World Cup debutants and is grouped with the USA, India, Pakistan, and Ireland.

The side includes the likes of Aaron Johnson and Kaleem Sana and only four players in the squad are below the age of 30, the rest are seasoned and experienced players.
Despite the squad being seasoned and experienced, notable inclusions were noticed, that of Nikhil Dutta and Srimantha Wijeyeratne who failed to secure a spot in the final 15 of the team.
The experienced side Is set for a clash against arch-rival USA on June 1 in Dallas. The match is the opening match of the tournament and it is expected that it will be an intense game.
It is also notable that the two sides met in a bilateral series in April and it was won by the USA.
It will be a big match when noticing the fact that it will be the first time an ICC event will be hosted by the USA.

Reserves: Tajinder Singh, Aaditya Varadharajan, Ammar Khalid, Jatinder Matharu, Parveen Kumar.
The cricket boards of the participating teams have been told to announce their final squads by May 25th and after that, no changes can be made without ICC’s approval.
