PAKvsNZ T20Is: Shadab Khan Backs Usama Mir Against Overwhelming Criticism
PAKvsNZ T20Is: Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan came forward in support of her teammate Osama Mir. Osama Mir is being criticized for his poor performance in the first T20 match against New Zealand, on which the former vice-captain of the Pakistan team says that it is not permissible to criticize the performance of just one match.
Osama Mir as a leg-spinner is a part of the Pakistan team squad, currently, the Pakistan team is on a tour of New Zealand, where a 5-match T20 series is being played between Pakistan and New Zealand, the first match of this series was played on 12 January in which Pakistan had to face defeat.
Osama Mir looked miserable in his first T20I match against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland. Osama Mir looked clueless in front of the Kiwi batsmen with short boundaries and the conditions were not in his favor as the batsmen targeted him.
Osama Mir, who earned a reputation as an exciting player due to his consistently good performances in T20 leagues, seemed frustrated by the pressure of international games. Kiwi batters punished him on all sides of the ground for their poor bowling.
Usama Mir’s struggles with the ball were a key factor in Pakistan’s inability to restrict runs in the middle overs, which eventually scored 226 runs. Despite bowling four overs, he failed to take a wicket and conceded 51 runs, resulting in an economy rate of 12.75.
After Usama Mir’s terrible performance with the ball, many fans and even experts criticized him. They did not go easy on him for his bowling performance and called for him to be dropped from the team.
Amidst all the criticism, former vice-captain Shadab Khan has backed Osama Mir. Shadab described him as a gifted and talented bowler and highlighted that Usama Mir has earned a place in the team due to his sensational performances.
