Pakistan Cricket Board Has Officially Announced a 3-Years Central Contract List

The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the successful completion of negotiations for a three-year central contacts agreement with its senior players, effective from July 1, 2023, until June 30, 2026. This significant deal will be extended to a total of 25 cricketers and will encompass a share of the International Cricket Council’s revenue.

In contrast to the previous year, the red-ball and white-ball national contracts have been merged. This determination was proposed by the central contract committee with the intention of assessing players based on their ability to win matches, and aimed at promoting fairness and, a transparent selection process.


The list of players shall be segregated into four distinct categories, each experiencing substantial increments in their monthly retainers. The revenue generated from the (ICC)shall be integrated into the overall monthly remuneration package


Category A (3 Players): 202%
Category B (6 Players): 144%
Category C (2 Players): 135%
Category D (14 Players): 127%


Presented below is the list of players classified by category, who are being extended contractual offers.


Category A: Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi
Category B: Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rouf, Shadab Khan, Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Nawaaz and Naseem Shah
Category C: Imad Wasim and Abdullah Shafique
Category D: Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Haris, Ihsanullah, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shahnawaz Dahani, Shan Masood, Usama Mir and Zaman Khan.


Player’s match fees will also see a major hike: a 50% increment in Test, 25% in ODI, and 12.5% in T20I.


Players who have been contracted centrally and participating in domestic cricket will be paid 50% of the international match fee. Furthermore, Players will be allowed to participate in two foreign leagues in each season

The financial model of the contacts will be fixed for the entire three-year tenure, while player performance will undergo review every 12 months. The preceding cycle of central contracts expired on 30 June, and the new agreement will be considered operative from 1 July 2023.

“This deal signifies our commitment to improving the financial health of our players, acknowledging their hard work and dedication to the game. We firmly believe that a financially secure and motivated team is more likely to excel on the field.

“As we move forward, the entire nation stands behind these players to do well in the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup. We have faith in their abilities, and we are confident that they will make the nation proud with their outstanding performances.”

“It is by far a historic deal. I am extremely happy and satisfied that we have reached an agreement with the PCB. It has been a lengthy and, at times, challenging negotiation process, but I believe we have reached a fair and beneficial agreement for both parties.

“I would like to extend my special thanks to chairman Zaka Ashraf for personally overseeing and facilitating these negotiations. He took personal interest and his commitment to Pakistan cricket are truly commendable.

“This agreement signifies a new chapter in players’ career and in Pakistan cricket. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all players towards the game and now we are all geared up ahead of the ICC Men’s World Cup.”
