Post-Combine Boost: Bronny James Now No. 54 on ESPN’s Draft Big Board
Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo ranked Bronny James at No. 54 in ESPN’s most recent NBA draft rankings after the NBA Draft Combine. This would position him to potentially be selected as a late second-round pick in the draft scheduled for June.
His previous ranking was 98th. During the combine, he demonstrated a 40.5-inch vertical jump, made 19 out of 25 shots in the three-point shooting exercise, and performed well in the scrimmages.
Bronny James is reaching the deadline to decide whether to stay in the draft pool or go back to college. The date for the decision is set for May 29, however, his rise in the ESPN big board rankings could bolster his argument to go pro.

Bronny James Performance
The performance Bronny James displayed in his first year at USC did not reflect that of a usual NBA draft candidate. He maintained an average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games with the Trojans. He only played in six games, resulting in a 15-18 record for the team and missing the NCAA Tournament.
After just one season at USC, Bronny James is reportedly entering the transfer portal.
The 6’4 guard posted averages of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 25 games with the Trojans.

It should be mentioned that James started the season late due to experiencing cardiac arrest and receiving a heart procedure before the season. This affected his season, as he gradually made his way into the lineup instead of receiving ample chances at the start to display his abilities.
Should he remain in the draft pool, he has the opportunity to compete with or against his father, 20-time All-Star LeBron James. Bronny James, who is older, had expressed interest in teaming up with his son in the NBA, but according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, playing with Bronny is no longer a top concern for him.
However, Bronny James may begin his NBA career very soon. The NBA draft for 2024 is set to happen in Brooklyn on June 26-27.
