Sri Lanka Women to host West Indies Women before the T20 World Cup 2024
Sri Lanka Women is set to host West Indies from June 15 to June 28 for three ODIs and three T20Is. The Sri Lankan women have recently qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in Bangladesh later in the year.
This will be the Lankans second bilateral series this year after their successful tour of South Africa in March through April.
The Lankans are also going to tour Ireland in August. The West Indies tour will serve as a warm up for the Lankans before the T20 Asia Cup which will be hosted in Sri Lanka as well.
The West Indies have just gotten back from a long tour of Pakistan where they thrashed the Pakistani women in both the ODI and T20I series.

The last time the West Indies and Sri Lankans met in a one-on-one series was back in 2017 and West Indies won both the T20Is and ODIs series.
When it comes to head-to-head records, West Indies have won 18 T20I matches while the Lankans have only won four. In the ODIs, the West Indies has won 18 and Sri Lanka has won 14.
This tour, however, can be different for Sri Lanka Women as they are in good form. They have recently won a series against England, New Zealand, and South Africa. These are some of the big names and teams in women cricket.
The ODI series between the two will be played from June 15 to June 21 in Galle, Sri Lanka. The ODI series is also the part of ICC Women’s Championship which is a road to the much anticipated ODI World Cup in 2025.
As for the T20I series between the two nations, will be held from June 24 to June 28 in Hambantota.
