IPL 2024: Liam Livingston left the IPL early to get his knee sorted
Liam Livingstone has left IPL to get his knee corrected before the T20 World Cup 2024 begins in June.
Liam Livingstone had to leave earlier than scheduled as his IPL franchise Punjab Kings still has matches to play.
Livingstone has been suffering from in-and-off injuries for the past two years. He also missed two games at the beginning of the IPL after he sustained an injury while Fielding against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Livingstone didn’t play a match for his franchise till the one against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 9th, Thursday which the Punjab Kings lost.

In a post on Instagram, Livingstone wrote that he is done with IPL this year and he thanked the Punjab Kings fans for all of the love and support they have shown him in this season. He added that he loved every minute of playing the league.
The PBKS have now been eliminated from the tournament and won’t play in the playoffs as they have only won four of their first 12 matches.
Liam Livingstone also described his IPL campaign as disastrous as he failed to make much of an impact on his team. He only made 111 runs in seven innings at an average of 22.20 and took three wickets in 12 overs.
The other English players at the IPL who are to leave for the World Cup are Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Butler, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Reece Topley.
These players are to return home and are expected to be in England by this weekend.
The English team before their departure for the World Cup is set to play a four-match T20I series against Pakistan starting on May 22.
