Pakistan Captain Babar Azam levels record of Virat Kohli in T20Is
Babar Azam has achieved another milestone as he has equaled the record of Virat Kohli of scoring 50 or more runs in a T20I.
Babar Azam achieved the feat during the first T20I against Ireland at Clontarf Cricket Club, Dublin on May 10th, 2024.
The feat by Azam comes in his 108 innings as he scored 50+ runs for the 38th time. Of the 38th 50+ runs, three are centuries.
The Indian superstar Kohli achieved the feat in 109 innings, just one more than Pakistan’s captain.

He is followed by his fellow country-man, Rohit Sharma who has 34 50+ scores in 143 innings, then it is Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan with 27 50+ scores in 81 innings, and then David Warner who has 27 50+ scores in 81 innings.
Babar Azam has just been reappointed as Pakistan’s skipper. The home series against New Zealand was his first after reappointment.
He has also become the captain with most T20I appearances as a skipper. The record was previously held by Australia’s Aaron Finch.
