Victor Wembanyama Wins 2023-24 Kia NBA Rookie Of The Year Award

Victor Wembanyama becomes the third Spurs player to win rookie honors, following in the footsteps of David Robinson (1989-90) and Tim Duncan (1997-98), with a unanimous decision.
Victor Wembanyama posted an average of 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per match during his debut season with the Spurs.

Victor Wembanyama, who plays as a forward-center for the San Antonio Spurs, has been awarded the Wilt Chamberlain Trophy for being named the 2023-24 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year.
Wembanyama got a unanimous vote for Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, just like Karl-Anthony Towns did in 2015-16.

Victor Wembanyama, hailing from France, is the initial recipient of the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Award from the country, a recognition given every season since 1952-53. He is the third player to receive the honor with the Spurs, following David Robinson (1989-90) and Tim Duncan (1997-98).
During the 2023-24 season, Wembanyama topped all rookie players in scoring (21.4), rebounding (10.6), and shot-blocking (3.6) on a per-game basis, while also finishing fourth in assists (3.9) and second in steals (1.2) per game. He is only the second rookie to top all NBA players in blocks per game for a season, after Manute Bol in 1985-86.

Wembanyama and Bol are the sole rookies who have topped the NBA in total blocks in a season since block statistics began in the 1973-74 season.
Wembanyama was the first to achieve an average of 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game in under 30 minutes in a single season. He is the initial player to achieve 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 250 assists, 250 blocks, and 100 3-pointers in a single season.
