Date announced for the players auction of Lanka Premier League 2024
It was announced on May 4th that the auction for the Lanka Premier League 2024 will take place on May 21st.
The auction’s location has been decided and it is Hotel Shangri-La in Colombo.
This will be the second time in the league’s history that there will be a player auction where in the past teams selected their players through a draft system.
The franchises will have the option to have 20-24 players in their squad with a compulsory selection and slot for an Under-23 Sri Lankan player.

The extravaganza event will host legendary players and those who are rising stars of the game. Fans can view the auction through television and digital platforms.
The league, however, is set to start from July 1st to 21st with the final match taking place in Colombo.
The current champions of the league are B-Love Kandy and they will defend their title in the fourth edition of the trophy.
The first edition of the league was back in 2020 and since then there have been four seasons with the third edition in 2022 being postponed due to a bit of unrest and economic crisis in the country.
Moreover, the league has five teams fighting for the big trophy and entertaining people all across the globe.
