PCB decides window for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League
Reports suggest that the Pakistan Super League’s 10th season could take place next year in the April-May window.
The decision comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided February-March a suitable time period for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which Pakistan will host and to avoid a clash between the country’s league and the ICC event.
The PCB has more specifically allowed the April 8th to May 20th window to the franchise’s owners but this window will probably clash with the Indian Premier League’s window that takes place during the same window.
If the IPL and PSL do clash then PSL will see the lack of big cricketers participating in the league as most prefer IPL over PSL as the Indian league is a grander event than the Pakistani event.
However, The window has been decided while considering Pakistani players’ availability.
Not only this, the PCB will also give franchises of PSL a chance to sign a marquee player ahead of the next edition of the league.
The signing of the marquee players is expected to occur during the next few months.
The last edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was scheduled in March and was won by Islamabad United.
The Shadab Khan led team beat Multan Sultans and took the trophy home for the third time.
