The BCCI has announced India’s T20 World Cup squad

The BCCI, on April 30th, has announced a 15-member India squad that will travel to the Caribbean and the US for the T20 World Cup in June.

Four reserve players will also join the Rohit Sharma-led team; Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan.

Numerous debates were running on social media on who would make it to the India squad and there were speculations that Sanju Samson and Shubman Gill would not be named in the squad but they would travel with the team. However, Gill will be part of the team as a reserve.

Yuzvendra Chahal has made a comeback in the team after his tremendous performance in the bowling department in the Indian Premier League.

So has been star batter Virat Kohli who just smashed 500 runs for the seventh time in his IPL career. He has been scoring runs here and there and people were looking forward to seeing him playing alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

As the selectors have picked two wicketkeeper batsmen, Sanju Samson, and KL Rahul, debates are sure to transpire on who to pick for the playing XIs.

The Indian team will play their first match against Ireland on June 5th in the newly constructed Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York, the same venue where they will play against Pakistan on June 9th.
