New Zealand Cricket announced the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024

New Zealand cricket team’s selector, Sam Wells has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024  in June.

The World Cup in June will be Kane Williamson’s sixth as a player and fourth as a captain of the New Zealand Cricket Team.

Also, the team will have veteran Tim Southee and for him, this will be his seventh World Cup.

His counterpart in bowling, Trent Boult will also join the team in what will be his fifth T20 World Cup.

Six of the players in the final squad have played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) giving them knowledge of how the West Indian pitches are acting these days.

This will be beneficial for them as the World Cup is set to be partly hosted by the West Indies.

The team will also be joined by the coaching staff consisting of batting coach Luke Ronchi, bowing coach Jacob Oramand, and assistant coach James Foster.

The team is set to leave for the World Cup on May 23rd.

The New Zealand team was recently on a tour of Pakistan where they played 5 T20Is. However, the series resulted in a 2-2 tie with the first match being washed out due to rain, the Kiwis are in tune and they have started warming up for the World Cup.
