Yuzvendra Chahal becomes the first bowler in IPL to take 200 wickets

Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal becomes the first bowler in IPL to take 200 wickets on April 22nd in the team’s home ground, Jaipur.

He achieved the feat In a match against Mumbai Indians when he dismissed their all-rounder Mohammad Nabi at 23 runs. Before the match, he was just one wicket away from getting to this huge landmark.

Of his 200 wickets, 61 are for Rajasthan Royals making him their joint second highest wicket taker. His 100+ wickets are for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and is their highest wicket-taker.

Chahal is followed by Dwayne Bravo who is the bowling coach of defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and he retired at 183 wickets. Chahal surpassed Bravo, the former West Indian all-rounder, in last year’s edition of the IPL.

In the current season of the league, Chahal is one of the leading wicket-takers and he’s accompanied by the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel.

Chahal is the only player with 100-plus wickets for RCB in the IPL. He has 61 wickets for Rajasthan Royals and is their joint second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL behind Siddharth Trivedi (65)

Chahal is being showered with praises and compliments and former Australian cricketer and now commentator, Tom Moody didn’t shy away and called Chahal one of the IPL’s ‘greats’ on ESPN’s transmission ‘Timeout’.

Notably, Chahal has accomplished this feat in 153 matches.
